Thought for the Day 3/28/06
F7 is a beautiful thing, especially for those of us who are gramaticlly challenged. I myself fall into this group. Then again…..I never claimed to be a damn english teacher, I am a tech geek. So quit breakin my balls!!!!!!
Three Categories of Computer Users
As a systems administrator/desktop support tech relatively new in the field, I have come to a conclusion. Computer users are based in classes. Three major classes. Each with their own sub-classes (different post entirely). It’s these major ones I am going to talk about today.
First you have every administrators dream…. The Super User.
The Super User will handle a good deal of the day to day stuff on their machine. Generally when the super user calls you with a problem ….. THERE IS A PROBLEM!!!!
The thing that makes every admin weep, is that only about 5 percent of users are super users.
Second you have the (L)user Just a annoying pain in the ass from time to time
The (L)user will call you with problems that are really not his/her responsibility to take care of, but he/she could. They are the folks that think that when their Windows® media player won’t work….the world is coming to an end. Most of the time, they are harmless, but when the get a bug up their ass, break out the valium, Tylenol, and .357mag
Then the last type of user………. COMPLETE FUCK-TARD
That is short for fucking retard for those who don’t understand Bastard IT lingo. This is the person that can get an IT person fired quickly, or put in the penitentiary( for loosing their cool). Or we as IT guys can do what we do best….. GET EVEN. We dig into our little bag of tricks, and torment the poor bastards mercilessly. These are the people who cause us the most grief, but who give us the most pleasure!!!
Thank you oh FUCK-TARDS
More to come on this subject later.
In the begining God…….
In the beginning God…… Anyone would recognize this as Genesis 1:1. It goes on to tell of the creation of Earth, and all the animals, plants, water, and finally, man. What the bible leaves out, is that after God gave Adam a companion (Eve), and they were together for a while….. He decided to create another thing, and it was good…..DIVORCE!!!
“Ok Adam and Eve, you made Cain and Abel….propagated the human race, now…to keep you from killing each other, here is this magical piece of paper that says you no longer have to put up with each other”.
Of course the devil had to put his two cents in…. “Naw Damnit….here’s this wonderful thing called child support”.
So God gave us Lawyers, and so on and so on…….
I digress……. The thing is, when we reach a certain point, were we want to throttle the hell out of our spouse, that is one thing. But when you spend a significant part of the day planning how to make the spouse miserable, prolly time to use the lifeboat and get off the sinking ship. Not such an easy thing with children involved, but it beats a life stretch in the pen. for murdering the ________________ .
Thought for the Day 3/25/06
PUNISHMENT – Some pain or penalty warranted by law, inflicted on a person, for the commission of a crime or misdemeanor, or for the omission of the performance of an act required by law, by the judgment and command of some lawful court.
2 a : suffering, pain, or loss that serves as retribution b : a penalty inflicted on an offender through judicial procedure
If a punishment is what we give to someone who commits a crime or transgression, then when that has been done, we keep hanging over the persons head. We label them ex-cons, offenders, and so on. What happened to “you did it, you paid for it, get on with life”?
Are we as people so shallow and so hung up on what was done to us, that we have to keep bringing it up, and rubbing it in people’s faces. Some people have to wait 20 or 30 years before offenses committed at 19 or 20 years of age stop haunting them.
I think as a society we need to stop and think about all the wrongs we have commited, and ask ourselves this question. ” Do I want all of my mistakes and indescretions rubbed in my face for the rest of my life?”
Might change how tolerant we are towards others.
Financial Aid
A few weeks back, I sent out a mass mailing to businesses that I have built computers, fixed machines, or set up networks for. The meat and taters of the letter is this: I am a poor student who needs a butt load of exams, so the $20,000 I spent on school won't be a half assed attempt at a new career. Don't want cash, but could you help with an exam voucher or two. I am amazed that a few customers have expressed an interest in helping, and even a freind of a customer, who I know. It never ceases to amaze me that when you do what you are supposed to, and do your best, all sorts of doors open for you. By the way, If you are interested in contributing to my plight for vouchers here is where one can be purchased. You can post a comment if you would like to do this, and I will give you the info you need.

“How may I help you”
” My computer won’t come on”
“is it plugged in?”
” Yes”
“are the lights lit up on the machine”
” there is a yellow light on the monitor”
“how about the tower?”
“tower?”
“the big black box on the floor, is there a green and red light lit up?”
“no”
“Press the silver button, and tell me what happens”
“OH!!! It’s comming up now!” “Thank You”
“Not a problem”
